Karen Cole sources its merino wool from the southern Alps of New Zealand, where merino sheep graze on pasture in 'free range' conditions in pristine alpine and sub-alpine conditions. Merino wool is a sustainable material. It's a renewable resource that is 100% biodegradable.

Karen Cole uses very fine New Zealand merino wool, with an incredibly low micron count which won't irritate or itch the skin.

This renowned New Zealand merino fleece creates a micro-climate next to your skin. This light weight wool provides warmth in the winter but allows the body to stay cool during summer months. Like other natural fibres, It's a breathable fibre that resists cling and static build up, and reduces garment soiling by repelling liquids, dirt particles and build-up of unpleasant odours. It has outstanding wrinkle recovery, and is flame retardant. It is machine washable up to 40 degrees Celcius.
